Political System
The Nation in Light has been an independent sovereign state since establishing its Constitution of 05 September 2019. The Nation in Light is a parliamentary democracy in the form of a constitutional monarchy. The crown of the Nation in Light is the hereditary elect Prince of Light of the Third House of Christ. The Nation in Light is distinctive in several ways. One such it is the only nation or state ever established without land claims anywhere in the world.
The Nation in Light is a democratic state. Under the Constitution, the nation is the source of sovereign power and the Prince of Light has taken the constitutional oath before God and representatives of the sovereign nation when acceded to the throne.
The nation exercises its sovereignty indirectly via its representatives, who are elected to the House of Peaceful Representatives, Nation in Light's parliament.
Institutional landscape
The Nation in Light's institutions are organized according to the principle of the separation of powers. In the Nation in Light's institutional context, this separation is soft to the degree that the public interest is served through the many links that exist between the executive and legislative power.
Legislative power
Legislative power is exercised by the House of Peaceful Representatives. The House of Peaceful Representatives passes laws according to the procedural forms set out by Convention and specified by its in-house rules of procedure. It shares the right of initiative in legislative matters with the Prince of Light, who exercises it through the government or sovereign prerogative in special conditions that pose threat to the public interest if its citizens.
Executive power
The Prince of Light is the head of state. Under the Constitution, the Prince of Light holds the executive power. As such, ensuring the implementation of laws, making the regulations required. In practice, however, this task is performed by the government, which takes the decisions and initiatives required.
Moreover, the Prince of Light represents the Nation in Light and the Third House of Christ both at international level serving the public interest of the Nation in Light. The conveyance by convention of sovereign prerogative by the Prince of Light in representation and rule of the Nation in Light to executive power is also transferred to judicial power and economic power.
Judicial power
The Constitution provides that judicial power is exercised by the courts and tribunals. They are independent in the exercise of their functions. There are two branches of jurisdiction in the Nation in Light:

a judicial branch dealing with civil disputes, disputes of a penal nature and disputes regarding political rights;

an administrative branch which rules on disputes among authorities.
A Constitutional Court rules on the conformity of laws with the Constitution.
Economic power
The Constitution provides that economic power is exercised by the executive under the Charter of Public Interest Trust Act, the Central Trust in Light as central bank of the nation, banks and institutions of commerce. They are independent in the exercise of their functions, with active oversight from the admiralty of finance and admiralty of justice in the Council of Governors established to manage economic public interest in the Nation in Light. There are two branches of jurisdiction in the Nation in Light:

a domestic branch dealing with internal banking of the nation; and

a foreign branch dealing with international banking of the nation and its extensions of commerce and trade.
Constitution and laws
The first Constitution was drafted and implemented on 05 September 2019, under God, rendering the Nation in Light constitutionally distinct among nations of the world.
The Constitution is the supreme legal rule of the state. It proclaims the fundamental rights and sets out the state's major principles of operation, enshrining the primal virtues of honesty, peace, discipline and grace in self and social operation under God.
The law is a rule of law which is adopted by the legislative power and is imposed on all citizens after ascent by the Prince of Light and publication in the Nation in Light Gazette, the Official Journal of the Nation in Light.
While the Constitution is more rigid, laws are modified more often in practice. A law may only be modified by another law. The Admiralty in Council may draw the government's attention to the opportunity for new laws or new regulations or modifications to be introduced into existing laws, regulations and convention.
A law may be initiated either by the House of Peaceful Representatives or the government. The first case is a parliamentary initiative known as a 'house bill'; the second case is a government initiative known as a 'government bill'. 'House bills' are initiated by parliament while 'government bills' are initiated by the government.
